OUR IDEAL TECHNICIAN... Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules. Our technicians are all required to maintain ASE Certifications (reimbursement available for certain certs).

Automotive service technicians are customer oriented, friendly, helpful and informative at all times. A constant positive attitude is key to success at MTA.
Aside from exceptional customer service skills, our technicians:
Identify mechanical, electrical, electronic problems, often via computerized diagnostic equipment.
Test parts and systems to ensure safe and proper function.
Follow checklists to ensure examination of all critical parts (consistent attention to detail!)
Perform basic care and maintenance, tuneups, fluids, rotations, etc.
Utilize modern test equipment to ensure effective repairs and/or maintenance.
Repair/replace worn parts
Analyze and recommend needed maintenance and repairs to ensure safe drivability and longevity.
Analysis of past records and vehicle history to troubleshoot current issues.
Manual dexterity, technical and mechanical skills and aptitude.
Tooling to match skill level & experience.
Knowledge of diesel, gas, electronics and diagnostics is a must!
SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
High School Diploma/GED Required
5+ years experience & ASE Certifications
Must be tooled for the skill level/experience
Must exhibit a team oriented, positive attitude every day
Accepts and acts on instructions from Service Advisor and General Manager (or lead techs).
Knowledge in large repair jobs to the small maintenance tasks from engine replacement to light bulbs.
Ability to access vendor sites, look up parts required and order effectively; as well as communicate with service writer on every step of the process.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment every day and make effective repair and diagnosis with little to no instruction from lead technician.
Extensive knowledge of automotive industry and parts, including most makes/models: European, Asian & Domestic.
Self motivated with ability to confidently complete RO's within time allotted.
Ability to communicate equally well with mechanics, customers and senior management, even in high rush/volume hours
Ability to remain professional and positively translate challenges to customers at all times
Experience with automotive management software (like MaxTraxx) and ability to consistently document customers, jobs/RO's and records both on paper and on the computer
Decent proficiency with computers, MS Office, email, auto shop software management/scheduling systems and industry/parts/manufacturer websites.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications. (reimbursement for ASE Certifications is available as deemed necessary to effectively accomplish your job by management)
